This weekend is Memorial Day weekend. This is an important holiday to my family. My great grandfather served in World War II and was wounded trying to save a fellow soldier. I am so proud of my great-grandfather for doing what he did to help another and to serve his country. This year he will be 89 years old. Every y
ear he puts American flags on the graves of all the men and women at his church who have served so valiently. There are 115 graves of past soldiers at his church--starting with the Civil War and going through the Iraq war. Three new graves were added this year alone. The picture above was one of the very first I took with my new Kodak digital camera my grandparents gave me for Christmas last year. It reminded me of my great-grandfather and his service. I love that old man!!
